For Authors
About
The Michigan State Law Review receives approximately 3,000 submissions each year, and publishes approximately 15-25 pieces over three, independent issues. At this time, the Law Review does not accept student submissions or Book Reviews. All other submissions are welcome.
Submission Requirements
The Michigan State Law Review accepts submissions through email, at michstlrevarticles@gmail.com, and through this service. We accept submissions in DOCX and PDF form. Please include a CV detailing your relevant qualifications and publication history and a manuscript of the article. We consider submissions of all lengths and do not have a word limit. Articles should use footnotes rather than endnotes or works cited. Text and citations should conform with The Redbook: A Manual on Legal Style (5th ed. 2023) and the Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (22nd ed. 2025).
Submission Dates
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, but generally the journal fills one to two independent issues between February and April and one to two independent issues during August and September. If an Article is accepted for publication elsewhere, please notify us with a withdrawal request as soon as possible.
